**** important Update****

Merritt’s cancer is now on his liver, and he is receiving chemo from the fantastic doctors at Duke. This treatment will continue indefinitely.

So that Merritt can focus on healing, he has decided to pass the Recycles torch, and is working hard to train the next generation of shreaders who’ll oversee the shop, (More details to come).

Merritt is incredibly grateful for the community’s love and support. Our cycling community is incredible! As you can imagine Merritt’s battle has been long, expensive, scary, painful, and all consuming for him and his Family. Merritt is a tough guy, and his fight is inspirational, but he still needs our help.
Please pass this fundraiser along, share his story, and consider donating again if you’re able. It would mean allot to all who love and care for Merritt.

10/31/23 update from Merritt:

”I’m so thankful for everyone’s generosity with helping me ease my mind with all the bills and expenses! Couldn’t do this without the love and much support from this RAD community.
Only 1 more round after today so head up and going to stay strong! This stuff is evil and what a scary day to have a treatment! Haha but I always try to find humor in my life, even when it gets scary!
Thank you again for supporting me through my journey through Colon Cancer.
DARK BLUE is my new favorite color!”

Many of us know and respect Recycles owner Merritt White as a skilled Master Mechanic, knowledgeable bike nerd, and absolute shredder. What you may not know is how generous Merritt is with his talent, knowledge and time. From the most skilled and experienced riders, to neighborhood kids on their first bikes, everyone has benefited from Merritt’s skill with a wrench, and unmatched knowledge. Spend any time at the shop you’re sure to learn something, and the stoke is always high, and very contagious.
Through no fault of his own Recycles has fallen on hard financial times. In order for the shop to survive Merritt had to restructure, scale back retail, and let go of his incredible staff. He’s been doing repairs by himself seven days a week just to stay afloat, but now his health is forcing Merritt to close the doors while he recovers from cancer surgery.
Please help one of the OG’s in the local biking scene who’s been at the heart of our Cycling community for more then 20 years.

Two ways to help. Donate or enter our raffle for a new Banshee Enigma, or Paradox in any size. You choose, and we’ll put it together with some of Merritt’s favorite components.
