Please Help my Seeing Eye Dog

My name is Jodi and this is my seeing eye dog, Connie (aka Suger). We were brought together in partnership so that I could have independence, courage, safety, and companionship. I have a degenerative eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosis (RP). There is currently no cure for this disease. Unfortunately, Connie is very sick now, and I am trying to help her.
We fell in love with each other the first time we met. I remember her running across the room to greet me and I knew that we are made for each other. I thought it was a coincidence that we were born on the same day, however, I quickly realized that our association was more than ordinary. We have a cosmic soul connection beyond just being canine and human partners; we are kindred spirits.
Over the years, Connie has become part of me. She is my love and my trusted companion. Being with her all day, every day, allows me the freedom to live my life just like everyone else. She makes me feel like I can see.
She helps me safely cross the street and navigate stairs and curbs, so I can go shopping, run errands, and get to work by myself. Thanks to Connie, I travel independently everywhere I want, even on planes and trains and buses. Without her, I feel naked, exposed and anxious.
Unfortunately, just a few days ago my sweet girl experienced a seizure. She has neurological and cardiac symptoms, and the veterinary specialists need to perform many tests to help diagnose and treat her. These tests include blood work, an echocardiogram, X-rays and an MRI.
