Please HELP Mike Sakamoto & family

Donation protected
As some of you may know, Mike Sakamoto was involved in a very serious accident on Thursday (10/12/17) evening; it happened in a town three hours away from home. Mike fell about 20 feet from the top of his big rig, suffering major bodily injuries. He was air lifted to the hospital and is currently still in critical condition...fighting for his life.

Mike endured multiple fractures and injuries; he fractured every facial bone, broke his ribs, fractured his spine, injured his lungs, broke both his wrists, and has fractures to both sides of his skull. He suffered major head trauma and emergency surgery was required to relieve the pressure around his brain. Mike is heavily sedated and is in an induced coma.

Mike’s two sons, Travis and Chad, and daughter in law, Megan, have all been at his side. They are young (Travis, 27 and Chad,15) and unsure of what to do and what to expect.  Mike's inability to be with his sons, as well as his income, will harshly affect their daily life.  As you can imagine, this is an extremely stressful and heartbreaking situation for their family.

Travis is taking it upon himself to manage his dad’s care, ensure his brother’s well-being, and maintain the responsibilities for his daughter and his own little family. Travis needs to stay by his father’s side and will be losing wages, on top of paying to live in a nearby hotel, in order to support his father during this unpredictable time.

Anyone who knows Mike, can attest to him being a hard worker, who always has a smile on his face. A caring father who is always supportive and goes above and beyond to ensure his sons are taken care of. Mike is a Gilroy native who has also been involved in the wrestling community for many years, often helping out other kids. Mike is an incredible father, a great friend to many, and generous within the community. The immeasurable grief his family must endure at this time is just the beginning.

In speaking with the family, Mike’s physicians are reporting his condition as “touch and go, taking it hour by hour.”
If and when Mike’s condition stabilizes, he will still be facing several months of physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation.   His family would have to commute the three hours away from home as Mike's condition is so severe, they're unable to transfer him.

Given this grave information, his family is humbly requesting for any support you might find possible.  There is nothing too small and the family greatly appreciates your help.

Funds donated would be used for direct medical expenses and support for Mike’s sons to maintain at his side, to help with Chad’s needs, and primarily for whatever future medical and financial expenses Mike will have to withstand in order to fully recover.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for continued thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement and out pouring of love for Mike, his family, and for the strength to overcome this most difficult time in their lives.
