Please help make this happen for my dad!

In early 2008, after a trip overseas, my father became unwell and ended up in hospital . For 6 months we and doctors had no idea what it was. Many tests and treatments were tried (inc cancer treatment) with no bodily response. Finally, dad was diagnosed with Good Pasture Syndrome,a rare autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the basement membrane in the lungs and kidneys, ultimately leading to bleeding from the lungs and kidney failure.  This ended up killing both of his Kidneys but fortunately his lungs weren’t affected at that time. He went onto Chemo and many other treatments including dialysis. During this time, many ups and downs were had with him being in and out of hospital, hooked up to machines for most of this time and being unable to do much at all. This was a very dark time in his life.  In 2014, after 6.5 years on dialysis dad received the call of his life time where a kidney was available. He was rushed into an emergency operation and it was successful! It hasn’t come without it’s ups and downs sadly but with treatment and medication it bought him many more years we didn’t think we’d have. His kidney is still going strong today and we are so grateful.

A few weeks ago, dad was taken to hospital for chest pain , heart issues and breathing issues. He was left for 5 hours in the emergency room with only a Panadol. He was tested and later discharged with reflux medication and sent home. 

Then again, 8 days ago, he was rushed by ambulance to hospital in excruciating pain where he still remains.  My dad is a man who can bear a lot, but this was overpowering even to him. 

After many nervous days of testing, morphine and other pain relief without much relief at all, we received the devastating news- he has stomach cancer. Serious cancer. Tomorrow we find out what time frame he has with and without treatment. Treatment will likely only buy him more time with his family, sadly. 

Not only that, he also has 8 stomach ulcers, partially block arteries & heart issues and a partially deflated lung with emphysema.  

My parents and siblings Live in Western Australia and my immediate family (partner and children) live in NSW. We have decided to leave NSW and head back to Perth to be there with dad and support him and my family. 

Dad has expressed to me that he would like to write a book about his life. A biography. Upon speaking to many professionalbook writers (because we want it done right) it isn’t a small cost - it costs thousands (upwards $25k or more) to do it properly.

I would love to honour this wish for my father who, at the moment, is already on borrowed time. He has given so much to people and has always been there throughthick and thin, for everyone, whenever they need it. It’s his turn now. 

Please help make this happen.  Even $1 would assist us on the new journey. 

All money will go towards writing this book and any other wishes dad has.
