Please Help Kara Welstead after Horrific Accident

Hi there!

My name is Tara and my close friend Kara Welstead was hit by a car Monday morning 8/16 while walking her sweet Boston Terrier, Chloe, in a crosswalk in downtown Atlanta. The driver was turning right yet looking left and turned into Kara and Chloe, dragging them under the car for 4+ feet. Tragically, Chloe did not survive the accident. Kara fractured her spine and has a mild brain bleed, but she is stable, thank God. She is currently being treated for her injuries at Atlanta Medical Hospital. I did speak with her and she was able to tell me what happened. She is completely devastated after losing her best friend of over 12 years, Chloe.

For those of you who know Kara, you know she is the most kind-hearted and generous person with friends, family and even those she does not know. To Kara, everyone is a friend. Her dogs are her life and it's heartbreaking that she lost Chloe in this tragic manner.

*Kara is a single woman who lives alone, and her job is very physical and hands-on. She will be out of work for a for an undetermined amount time and will need some financial assistance with groceries, living expenses, and care for her other dog, Jethro, who was luckily not involved in the accident.
