Please help Josephine fight cancer
Hello, my name is Janice Gayle, me and my siblings, nieces and nephews are fundraising for our sister (their mother) Josephine Gordon who is currently battling cancer in the left foot.
In recent years, Josephine quitted her job as a kindergarten teacher to be available as a full time missionary specifically caring for the needy and the elderly in the parishes of Manchester, Jamaica, W.I., where she resides and St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, W. I., where she attends church services. She took pleasure in cleaning their houses, doing their laundry, bathing and feeding them and never leaving their homes without sharing a goodie basket, prayer and words of encouragement.
Even after an innocent mole became a nagging bruise on her left foot, she kept going for over 5 years, always of a strong faith that God will take care of her. With the results of two biopsies returned as negative, Josephine prayerfully conformed to the medical suggestions that deteriorating health of her foot was as a result of circulation problem.
In April 2021, Josephine and her family were shocked with the report of melanoma at stage 4, after a third biopsy! The oncologist recommended that she immediately begin immunotherapy treatment (keytruda), a minimum of 6 doses to begin – each dose to be administered at three weeks intervals. Each dose cost US$10,000.00. Cost associated with preparing for and administering each dose is US$335.00.
Josephine’s family has been able to pool all reserves in order for her to receive two (2) doses, and is now seeking help to raise US$40,000.00 to help with the final 4 doses. This is a race against the clock as melanoma is very aggressive; however, her family and friends supports her strong faith that, with God’s help and your support, she will be able to win this fight for her life.
