**UPDATE AS OF 10/19** For those of you who haven’t seen the most recent video of Jordy on my Facebook or IG page I’m posting it here too, because it’s that amazing to see! Have a look…

JORDY IS HOME! To say 'thank you' doesn't begin to adequately represent the gratitude we all feel for everything that has been done to help Jordy.  Many of you don't even know the family and you stepped up...either by sharing the campaign information, by saying a prayer or by donating. I have been overwhelmed with so much appreciation from this experience and Kari and Andrew share in my overabundance of gratitude. I have read every single one of your notes and we all thank you for taking the time to write your words of encouragement.

I'm adding some videos and photos from today's homecoming so you can continue to see just how special this little guy is.

**UPDATE AS OF 9/22 6:30PM** I'm sorry for the delay with our updates but Jordy had a setback and we were waiting for more positive news before sharing. Thankfully, we have some better news to share this evening. On Monday they found that infection had set in and another surgery needed to be done that night and the prognosis was grim. But this dog is so incredibly tough and I firmly believe that he will continue to be a huge source of inspiration to those who learn his story. He is still fighting and the care he has been receiving has been incredible. He is still hospitalized up in Brewster but the last two nights he has shown signs of real improvement. Kari and Andrew visit him daily and today their son Chase got to spend time with him as well and I'm certain these visits are giving him reason to keep fighting this infection. He is not out of the woods yet but we cannot wait to tell you when he is! We cannot express our gratitude to all of you enough. THANK YOU.

**UPDATE AS OF 9/15 11:30PM**
Jordy had surgery today and he did GREAT. His lungs are stronger which allowed him to have the surgery a day earlier, which was a blessing as infection was seeping into his leg.  Had they waited even one more day this would have been a much more complicated surgery with a potentially very different outcome. Thank you for your donations, thank you for your prayers and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SHARES! Please continue to share this campaign by posting the link. If anyone knows Matt Nelson and how to get this campaign posted on the Twitter page "We Rate Dogs" please let me know. I would be so grateful!

**ORIGINAL POST** My name is Laura and I am writing to ask you to please help my dear friends Kari and Andrew (and their children) whose dog Jordy was hit by a car this morning after finishing his morning hike. After the pickup truck drove off (leaving the scene of the accident without stopping), Jordy ran off into the woods despite his right front leg being in horrible shape. Thankfully, his best dog friend Stasi was able to locate him on the trail so that he could be rushed to the Veterinary Emergency Group in Greenburgh, NY where they were able to stabilize him and prepare him for surgery. The amazing angels on staff at VEG had to remove the air from his lungs using syringes so he could be moved to a different facility that was prepared to handle his leg injuries. Jordy was transferred by Vet-Ambulance though to Guardian Veterinary Specialists in Brewster, NY, where an orthopedic surgeon on staff assessed Jordy's injuries and deemed his right front leg unsaveable.

Kari and Andrew have already spent $4,700 (thank goodness for credit cards) and have been told that they will need another $7,600 by the end of this week for his care just prior to surgery. This amount doesn't even include the surgery that is still 2-3 days away as Jordy's lungs aren't strong enough yet to withstand surgery. All in, they have been told that the bills will total above $20,000 so I have set that as our goal.

Kari and Andrew will do whatever they have to do to save Jordy's life and to make his future a beautiful one but financially this is crushing. I am asking for your support in taking the financial stress off of their list of things to worry about so they can provide the kind of care that Jordy needs to live a continued active life.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering helping my friends. If you knew these amazing people and their precious dog Jordy, you would understand why I am reaching out to you to help. Thank you in advance, we all deeply appreciate it!
