A Victorian Police Officer Lenny Pascoe (a good friend of mine) was working full time and was very committed to catching crooks and assisting the community whenever required up until 12/12/2018 when he was seriously injured while at home. On that day Lenny was at home up on a garage roof cleaning the gutters when he tripped on a roofing nail and fell through the shed skylight falling 6 metres onto the concrete floor below.
Lenny's injuries consisted of a broken Sternum, a broken Foot, and 2 crushed Vertebrae. Lenny was air lifted from his property in Gippsland to the Alfred Hospital. As a result of the back injury Lenny had an extensive operation where surgeons inserted Harrington Rods on either side of his spinal colum with 18 screws holding the rods in place. These rods and screws remain permanent to allow the rods to fuse the vertebrae together and calcify into one bone running the length from his shoulder blades to his hips along his spine. Needless to say it has been 6 months now since the fall and Lenny's pain has as not receded and his movement is permanently restricted. The sad thing for Lenny is dealing with the realization that he may never be able to return to work or do all the things he loved to do.
I have put this fundraiser together to assist a colleague, friend, and truly good bloke who dedicated his own existence to help others. Lenny is running out of sick leave, requires a quad bike to get around his hobby farm, and funds to help him financially with house repayments and on-going medical expenses.
Lenny asked me not to do this fundraiser because as he said, "C'mon Kev there are people out there far worse off than me." I think that comment explains his character and no more words are
Well I'm going ahead with this so please give whatever you think no matter how small, every cent will help ease the physical and emotional pain that Lenny is going through.
Thanks a heap
