Please Help Harley Heal !!!

Hello everyone,

My name is Dawn. Many of you know me from the dog rescue community. 5 years ago I rescued a 2 year old Pitbull named Harley from NYCAAC death row. I never thought that I would be writing what I am about to tell all of you.

Please read his Harleys story,

One night I was on FB , I kept seeing this Pitbull pop up on my news feed over and over.

He was absolutely stunning and I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I made the decision to reserve him … unfortunately he got reserved by another person, however they backed out, he was back on the kill list … immediately he reserved by another person but they backed out as well. Harley then became “rescue only” in order to be pulled. That’s when I knew the universe was telling me he was meant to be my dog.

Then it happened and everything fell into place. I reached out to a friend who is able to pull “ rescue only “ dogs from high kill shelters. Thankfully she did it for me and Harley was now mine.

Harley has taught me patience, to be more giving and more understanding, that’s when I knew it was my calling to help other rescue dogs .. but most of all to never give up on anything, that’s why I am not giving up on Him.

Previously Harley was hospitalized due to severe vomiting and diarrhea. He wasn’t eating and that’s when I knew he had to be hospitalized. He pulled through after being at the hospital for 4 days and was able to come back home. Unfortunately the next days Harley had to be rushed back into the hospital due to complications with his breathing. I got news I surely didn’t want to hear, Harley took a turn for the worse. He’s been diagnosed with an pneumonia as well as acute necrotizing pancreatitis which can be life threatening.

I don’t know when he will be able fo come home. Harley has to be fully monitored 24 hours round the clock. They are doing every possible treatment to keep him alive. Needless to the say the vet bills are escalating beyond belief and I am not able to catch up with them.

I love all you … but most of all I would love for my Harley to be back home with his family. He is extremely missed.
