Please Help Eugene Connolly Recover

As many of you know, my husband, Eugene Connolly, suffered a ruptured artery and heart attack on July 27th and had to have emergency triple bypass surgery that same night. However, what most of you are not aware of is that Eugene also lost his job just a week prior to his heart attack. With his job ending so did our only source of income, his health insurance, and all of his employee benefits. He did eventually qualify for Medicaid insurance on September 1st, unfortunately, it does not cover everything he needs or any prior medical bills. 

The past 3 months have been very difficult for our family, both financially and emotionally. Eugene has had multiple health issues, including an infected incision, which have significantly set back his progress. It has been a bumpy recovery, however, through our faith in God and the love, prayers and support of family and friends we have managed to get through it. 

Eugene is now finally ready to enter cardiac rehab. This is an essential phase of his recovery which will help him get back on the road to health and be able to begin the process of looking for and working at a new job. In order to do this we really need your help. 

Medicaid will not cover the Cardiac Rehab, so we have had to elect COBRA to reactivate his previous employer-sponsored health insurance. The catch is that we will have to pay all of the premiums back to August 1st. The premiums are  very expensive! The good news is that once the premiums are paid he will be able to have the all of the weeks of Cardiac Rehab that he needs. The Cobra policy will also help cover some very large medical bills that could not be covered previously. Time is of the essence though as we must pay the premiums before the grace period ends on November 13th. 

We are very humbled to have to reach out and ask for assistance, however, we really do need your help now. We have exhausted our savings and are struggling to pay our mortgage, basic bills and make ends meet. Additionally, Eugene’s car is extremely unreliable and is in desperate need of major repairs.

So many of you generously asked how you could help us in the beginning and honestly, we just didn’t know what to say. It was all so overwhelming at the time. So now we are hoping that you all can still help us as we really need it more than ever now. Any amount is appreciated and will help us more than you can imagine.
