Please Help Dilynn Beat Leukaemia!

Donation protected
This is my best friends daughter Dilynn. Dilynn is a loving, funny, silly, pre teen who loves making her friends and family laugh to see them happy. She loves playing outside with her friends and her baby sister.

Laurie was a single mom at 18, she wrote her final college exams breast feeding baby Dilynn. Laurie is now a nurse with a family and two daughters. Laurie worked her way to the top with Dilynn by her side as her motivation in life.

Just very recently Laurie has received the worst news a mother could get.

Dilynn wasn’t feeling well, she had bad menstrual symptoms , cramping, heavy flow, frequency and lots of pain. Then she started vomiting and her nose kept bleeding. After that she started getting intense neck pain . Laurie figured Dilynn must have polycystic ovarian syndrome or something menstrual related . But her neck pain was so unexplained. There were nights Dilynn was screaming in pain from 3am-630am.

Upon taking her to the doctor for testing and trying to figure out what’s wrong Dilynn was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia specifically targeting her B cells.

Dilynn is only 12 years old.

She will require to start chemotherapy soon thus missing school. Laurie works part time as a nurse in the hospital therefore she is only guaranteed so many hours a week and her boyfriend works full time in construction. With the current recession it’s been difficult for all of us to live let alone a family with a sick child.

Dilynn will require being transported back and forth from Brantford to Victoria Children’s hospital in London. There will be nights that Laurie will be in the hospital and the father will have to be home with baby. No doubt this puts a huge financial struggle on the family upon hearing this devastating news.

With this process beginning I would like to try to ease this financial burden on Laurie. She is a great mother, spends her days as a nurse helping people, she has worked with palliative children and she goes above and beyond to make sure her patients are well taken care of. This is something no mother should have to experience.

We hate having to ask for financial support from strangers however this is a situation none of us saw coming and just want the family to feel as comfortable as possible.

Any money donated would be greatly appreciated, regardless if it’s $2 or $10 anything will help.

The donated money will go towards Dilynns medical equipment, a wig, things to make her feel beautiful, gas, car repairs, travel to hospital facilities, groceries, rent and anything the family might struggle with during these coming months.

Donations are very much appreciated but if unable keeping this family in your thoughts and prayers is just as appreciated.

Keep your loved ones close and be kind, most of us take good health for granted.
