GET DEANNE HOME

Deanne Niedziela, Director Nursing at Mission Hospital, was in a tragic accident over Memorial Day weekend May 28, 2023. On vacation in Costa Rica with her husband Ken, Deanne suffered a nearly fatal spinal cord injury while on a waterfall hike. She was struck by a falling tree limb and sustained extensive injuries.

Funding has been started to assist in medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. Costs beginning with bringing Deanne to the United States. Medical air transport is estimated to be up to $100,000. We know Deanne will have additional expenses, our current focus is bringing Deanne home to Mission Hospital for workup by our trusted specialists.

Deanne oversees the Spine & Neuroscience Institute and Acute Care Service for Mission Hospital, she has served as part of our Mission family in various roles including Interim CNO, Director Laguna Beach campus, Critical Care Manager, and Charge nurse.

On behalf of Deanne, her colleagues, as well as her family and friends, we are setting up this GoFundMe page to help raise funds to alleviate the financial burden from this scary and unplanned event. The donations will go to her medical expenses. We are grateful for any amount as it will contribute to Deanne’s recovery efforts.
