Support Baby Carmine's Fight Against Leukemia

After two weeks in and out of the hospital with a high fever, low blood counts, transfusions, and biopsies, my grandson, Carmine Gary was given the horrible diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. His parents, Carmine and Christina, and our entire family are devasted by this diagnosis.

Carmine Gary is a beautiful, bashful, happy seven-month-old baby boy. He always has a smile on his adorable little face. We all love him very dearly. In total, he will need four courses of chemotherapy treatment, which would mean that Carmine and his parents will be staying at Stony Brook Children's Hospital for the next six months.

The health of our grandson is of the utmost importance. At the same time, the financial burden of a young family member with cancer is overwhelming. My daughter-in-law, Christina, had to leave her job to stay full-time at the hospital to take care of Carmine Gary. They already have accumulated thousands of dollars in medical bills and are trying to live on one income as his treatment is carried out.
