Please help Carl get home

Hi, my name is Art and I'm the organizer for Indian Bike Week. I'm asking for your help please for a dear friend that many of you may have met over the past 3 years since we restarted Indian Bike Week. It's hard for me to write this because we all go through hard times in life.. but due to the fact that most of us Bikers, of all kinds, have always been a giving community, I'm just asking if you could throw, if even $5-$10 into the hat for Carl Mantegna. Carl was heading to Chicago to visit his mother and then heading back to Indian Bike Week to help me. He was going to stay back this year from most of the rides and Welcome everyone as they arrived, as previously in the past 2 years people were arriving and were seeing no one at the Campgrounds because we were all out riding. He wanted to make sure everyone felt welcomed this year at the event.. The current report is, that Carl hit some debris on the road in a construction area that he still doesn't remember. Carl has suffered 5-6 broken ribs and is blind in one of his eyes.. I talked to him last night, and he was determined to come to Indian Bike Week..

But I choked upon hearing his voice because I had never heard him sound the way he did. He was definitely in pain and couldn't finish a sentence without difficulty of breathing. I told him he needs to go home and heal. His motorcycle is in 3 pieces, but I give thanks to God he is intact. God's hand was definitely on him.

He lost all his belongings, and had $2000 cash in his Bike and lost his wallet, but the most important thing, is Carl is alive.

Carl's nickname is "MacGyver" because Carl had anything and everything packed away in his motorcycle to help anyone on the road. He has done this already with many at Indian Bike Week and helped them get back along the way. Carl also served in the Army, was a fire fighter for close to 30 years and was also a paramedic and currently works at a hospital and is active at the VFW. His heart has always been in the right place and is the most selfless guy I know. Please just, if you can, throw a little in the pot. 100% of what you donate will go to Carl. I just wanna help him get home without any kind of financial worry, after all he was just coming to help everyone feel welcomed, because that's just who Carl is. We love you Carl...
