Please Help Baby Grayson

November 14th, 2019 my best friend Adrienne and her partner Jesse became parents to adorable baby Grayson. At just 7 months old he was diagnosed with the incredibly rare Allan Herndon Dudley Syndrome or MCT8-AHDS Deficiency.  This affects his mobility, cognitive functions and his ability to eat and digest food.  This is a lifelong disorder which will require full time care, medical interventions, and lots and lots of support.

Grayson is now on multiple medications, eats all meals through his feeding tube, and as he grows will require specialty wheelchairs, mobility devices, and physical therapy gear. The family must regularly travel from Quesnel to Prince George or Vancouver Children’s hospital in order to see the specialists Grayson needs. Though there is funding it will not be nearly enough for Adrienne and Jesse to cover it all. Adrienne won't be able to return to work due to the high level of care Grayson requires and Jesse is working as much as he can while still providing the needed help at home.

My amazing friend Adrienne is no stranger to the children's hospital. She was born with severe scoliosis among other health problems and had three surgeries at just age 2. She would then need at least one major surgery every year until she was 16. Adrienne is one of the toughest people I know and is unendingly optimistic. She has grown up with so much pain due to her medical needs, and never complained, was always the first person willing to help, and was friends with everyone. Baby Grayson is so lucky to have her for a mom and he has her loving spirit and steel strength already.
