My two children were in Gaza as well. In 2023, they were evacuated to Vancouver with the support of Global Affairs, escaping a life of fear and danger. While I am endlessly grateful that my children are now safe,

⚠️ But our story does not end there.

My family in Gaza continues to face unimaginable challenges every single day.

‍‍‍ I have lost my mother and my brother, who left behind five children.

My father, my two sisters, and my remaining brother are all still there, and each of them has their own families, struggling to survive in constant fear, without access to food, clean water, medical care, or safe shelter.

My father and my youngest brother, along with his family, are currently waiting to complete fingerprint collection with IRCC-Cairo as part of their immigration process.

But thinking about getting them out of Gaza to Egypt is overwhelming, as it requires a large amount of money that I cannot afford on my own.

War has taken so much from them. their home, safety, and peace of mind.

and now my nieces and nephews, along with every member of my family, are growing up in a place where survival is uncertain.

Every day, I sit thousands of kilometers away, my heart aching, knowing I cannot help them.
