Please donate towards Isaacs treatment & vet cost

Hi everyone, it's Stevie here... Most of you know of my two cats Isaac and Jett-Jett, they are my world and my two precious boy's. They are brothers and are inseperable... Isaac has became seriously unwell the last couple of months, he was diagnosed with feline asthma after doing scans on his lungs and, also saw a heart condition that he was born with. His breathing became erratic and was put on asthma medication, it reduced his symptoms for a few weeks, but on Friday 5th May he was up all night experiencing terrible asthma attacks, with breathing and coughing difficulties.

(The following is an update and towards the end of this page of text, the original story/circumstance is explained...)

Update: 11th May 2022 below...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all of your support and donations! It is all for a good cause and no doubt completely worth it, for the sake of Isaac's health and wellness. I was due to go in for a consultation at St Paul's Vets on Monday, but after having the local private vets assess Isaac's medical history and x-rays before arrival, I received a phone call from them and they shared that after assessing all of the information, they do not feel that they can do any more than PDSA already has done.

I since have contacted numerous other private vets like Celia Hammond and the vets in Pets at Home, and come to understand the same knowledge after they reviewed his history and scans... This has brought us back to square one with the option of seeing specialist vets. After PDSA made contact with the specialists for a referral quote, they got back to us sharing that for further investigation a CT Scan and Bronchoscopy will be needed. This would cost approximately '£4,000 to £,5000', but possibly more depending on other factors! On top of that other expenses are expected to come up, which are not known as of yet.

Because of this, the goal of this GoFundMe for Isaac is going to be increased to £6,000 to ensure all costs expected and unexpected, will be covered. Any funds raised that are left over after treatment costs are paid out, will be donated to an animal charity. This is a high goal to reach, but surely not impossible.

Fortunately, I was contacted by surprise by a communications associate who works for GoFundMe. She shared that she would like to pass over Isaacs's campaign to local Media/News outlets, and if I would permit her to pass over my details. I since received contact from a reporter from MyLondon, which is a news publishing website. They are fortunately going to be publishing an article on Isaac's story to spread the word further, in hopes of reaching the goal and making the impossible possible for Isaac. There is still hope and it is not the end yet.

As it stands, Isaac is ok. He is at home with me and his brother Jett Jett, he is comfortable and has not been in discomfort. Gradually he is eating more here and there, but he certainly is not his usual self.

I will update you all more along the way. Please share the GFM and article (once published) around as much as you possibly can!

Thank you so much,
Stevie/Steven

Original GFM story/text:

He threw up a fair amount of blood for a cat his size, was rushed to the vets at PDSA and threw up more blood in the car...

They took further scans and tests and have seen that he has a foreign body object in the lower part of his left lung. The PDSA said that they reccomend he goes for an MRI Scan and other tests to investigate further, but they do not have the equiptment or trained specialists to do this, so have gave options for a refferal to specialist vets who can do this. The PDSA shared they only have options to reffer to certain specialist vets, and these ones are extremely expensive, I feel this expensive route with particularly high end vet costs is for legal liability to ensure they are not responsible for any further issues at PDSA, which does make sense...

After looking into it the costs for that, it is looking well over £2,000+. I will have aprox £500 - £700 of my own funds to put towards any vet costs going forward, but I unfortunately won't be able to cover it all alone as it stands.

PDSA said they will give antibiotics for him as a last resort for what they can offer in the meanehile as it stands, alternatively they said, if Isaac continues to decline, they at the PDSA will only be able to offer to have him put to sleep as they can't do anymore investigations or treatment themselves as a charitable organisation...

Isaac is precious to me, his family and dear friends. The last resort would to be to have him put to rest, but right now there is still hope and he is stable enough to continue to put up a fight, without being in unbearable pain and discomfort. Should his circumstance change and he declines dramatically, I will make a choice as to what is in his best of interests, as hard of a decision that would be...

Because of the unreasonable costs for the specialist vets charges, I have been in touch with other local vets who are willing to investigate further and do other tests, before I have to make the decision as to figuring out a way to gather funds for extensive costs with the specialists, or to have him put to rest... With other local vets being willing to investigate further and give a second opinion before making either of those other choices, as with other local vets there may be other treatment options available and more cost appropriate charges. I am therefore starting this GoFundMe to raise funds for having local vets do further tests and investigations that PDSA can't offer, and for them to give a second opinion etc... This is still going to be costly and therefore I have set the goal of this GoFundMe at £1,500.

Please I sincerely ask for you to donate what you are able to, should you feel to do so. I don't know at this point if it is a matter of time or what etc... I am so grateful and appreciate every bit of help that I can get for Isaac's treatment and wellness to a steady recovery, to get him healthy again and prevent him from ultimately death. He is only 2years and 8months old. (Should the unthinkable have to happen and Isaac is laid to rest, I can assure you I will donate the raised funds to an animal charity and evidence of this would follow...)

Please share this will all of your friends, family and work colleagues, as well as any groups on facebook that you think could help. Even Instagram stories and so on would be so helpful.

Thank you so much for all of your support and help!

Stevie x

(I would also like to note the immense help and support that PDSA had given, they are truly an amazing service and have done wonders.)
