Please Donate to help Debbie during her cancer treatments

My name is Gloria and thank you for taking a few minutes to read my

appeal. I am fundraising to help my daughter, Debbie, who was

diagnosed in April with Stage 4 Lung cancer.

Our family has been devastated by this shocking news. She is

unable to work and has not received her LTD yet.

I am hoping to raise money to help with her expenses and to

help her come home to Nova Scotia where her family, myself, her 2 sons & 4 grandchildren and brother live.

Debbie is currently in British Columbia, having gone out to BC during COVID for her dream job driving a truck.

However Debbie is no longer able to work and with expenses during

her cancer treatments, her savings have been exhausted. Her

family wants her to come home to River John, from British Columbia,

as soon as possible. However it involves transferring health care

from British Columbia to Nova Scotia and the wait times here are

longer as we know, but all her family is here in Nova Scotia

Just this April she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer with a 11cm

tumour on her lung. In May, a brain scan revealed 3 tumours,

possibly more, following a MRI she is waiting for. With no treatment,

she has been given 0-3 months. The tumour on her lung is pushing

on her wind pipe, esophagus and rib cage. It must be radiated and

pushed back. The tumour on her brain needs to be removed as the

swelling is pushing on her brain. There are new tumours ready to

grow once they have room. Debbie has had radiation and brain

surgery and still has tumours.

Her last wishes are to be here with us all. I am retired and we all

have financial burdens. This is why we chose a GoFundMe for help

to bring Debbie home.

It’s a horrible & helpless feeling knowing your child is going through

this alone. I wish I had the financial means to alleviate the stress &

worry she is experiencing during this heart wrenching time.

Anything you would wish to contribute would be gratefully and

thankfully received. All of the funds raised will go to her living

expenses, transportation to cancer treatments, trying to bring her

home, or failing that, enable some of us tto go to her.
