Susan Blake Has a Lawyer, Help Bring Didi Home

Donation protected
On March 4, without cause, without warning, without consent, and with no due process, Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto Florida, forcibly removed the guide dog of Rev. Susan Blake, a blind Episcopal priest in Orlando because, in the words of the Southeastern representative,  “Didi looks like she is about four pounds overweight!”. . Adding insult to injury, when Rev. Blake appealed the decision Southeastern employed no due process: Rev. Blake was not allowed to defend herself, introduce her veterinary records to dispute their unfounded, exaggerated claims, or offer a remediation plan. The same group of cruel, authoritarian, paternalistic Southeastern staff rubber-stamped their previous decision and refused to return Rev. Blake’s guide dog.

We are seeking an injunction against Southeastern for the return of Rev. Blake’s dog and the reform of the immoral, unethical practices of Southeastern Guide Dogs. By supporting this effort, you will not only help return Didi to Rev. Blake, you will also help future guide dog handlers by securing a legal decision that society does not tolerate this deplorable behavior from guide dog training programs. Any funds remaining after the law suit is decided will be donated to a guide dog training program that respects the dignity of its consumers.
