Plants for Wellington Station- 50 Mile Run

Hello, my name is Jon. I am a keen runner, rail enthusiast and member of 'Friends of Wellington Station'. Friends of Wellington Station aims to make the station a welcoming and friendly gateway to Wellington and the surrounding area. One of the ways the Friends do this is to brighten up the station with plants and flowers and, hopefully, put a smile on the faces of people using or passing through the station.

 

On Monday 16th May (rearranged from 21st April due to illness) I will be attempting to complete the 50-mile T50 trail as a single run/walk and using this as a platform to raise funds. All money raised will enable the Friends of Wellington Station to buy plants and compost to help brighten the station up for the summer and plant our new garden area. The T50 trail is one of many walking / running routes that can be accessed from the station, signs directing station users to the various local trails and paths have recently been installed at the station along with map dispensers.
