Everyone keeps asking if there is a way to donate money or help out so I decided to do this GoFundMe. I am not one to ask for help for myself but My main focus is on the business.
Since Covid we haven't been able to pay any utilities nor have we been able to pay taxes or rent. We have focused mainly on the payroll. If we had extra money we tried paying some taxes or rent. We had a separate account for taxes but some of our staff could not get unemployment so we used that to pay them. We applied for every grant and have not received any money because we can't get a clean hands certificate because we owe taxes. I'm working on a plan for that but you can't make a deal with the DC government unless you owe less than what we currently owe them.
This money would ensure we keep our utilities on and try to catch up on taxes and hopefully pay our staff also. With the new guidelines, closing at 10, etc, it has been even more difficult to pay the staff. So if you'd like to help and you're one of the people who asked, this is the best way.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and my staff. We used to employ 47 people from our community. We are currently employing 12 and are struggling with that.
