Our Jack Russell Mix, Piper, has
been nothing but a warrior since
she was born. She was rescued
from the desert near Los Angeles,
flown in a Piper airplane (hence
her name), and was found to have
an improperly healed pelvic
fracture and a mega colon. She
had a wonderful foster mom who
still checks in with her forever
home family in Reno.  She has
been on medication to help her
pass stool for the last year and a
half.  Unfortunately the
medication is no longer working
and she is in need of life saving
surgery. The process includes a CT
scan, 3D  models of her pelvis for
the surgeon to practice on and the
surgery itself.  This is an
incredibly difficult and expensive
procedure but our little fighter is
only three years old and we feel
she deserves every chance at a
happy, normal and pain free life.
The surgery is taking place at The
Animal Emergency Center in
Reno, Nevada  (775)851-3600.
Funds can not be donated
directly to the clinic until her
surgery is on the calendar.
Hopefully that will be in the next
week. Anyone who wishes to
donate before then can do so and
can call the Animal Emergency
Center  to confirm the legitimacy of this fundraiser.
