Anyone that knows our Renee, knows just how much she does for everyone else, so now it’s our turn to do something for her, which is what #PINKFORPINTO is all about!
In mid-August, a month before her 40th birthday, Renee was given the devastating news that she has breast cancer. Most of us are still in complete shock – how could this happen to the most caring, generous, loyal person we know? She’s cried a lot, been through all of the emotions, but in true Pinto style she is trying to remain positive, and is more worried about how everyone else is feeling and coping.
Over the years/decades, we have all witness and/or been touched by Renee’s willingness to help those in need. When someone is sick, or going through hard times, Renee is the first one there to offer support in any way possible – organizing fundraisers, selling her photography services to raise money for someone else, giving up so much of her own time to be there for other people – nothing is ever too much for her when it comes to supporting the people and charities she truly cares about.
So now it’s our time to give back to her! Renee finished up her job a week prior to her diagnosis, and sadly has had to put any new job prospects on hold for a while to focus on her health. With surgery, chemo and radiotherapy around the corner, her medical bills and daily life expenses will start to pile up, so we’re aiming to raise as much money as possible to support her through this next phase, so she can focus on her recovery and not have to worry about her finances.
As you’d know, Renee is also the type of person that would never ask for help! In fact, one of the first things she said to me was, “don’t you dare think about organizing a fundraiser”! But she didn’t have a choice! #PINKFORPINTO has been setup by her friends without her knowledge, and the funds raised here will be directly deposited into Renee’s bank account within days of your donation.
