Pier to Pier

Sergeant Daniel Burton and Senior Constable Julie Morris have pledged to swim the 10kms between Frankston and Mornington Piers on 8th January, 2020, to raise money for Police and Emergency Service member suffering from PTSD and work-related mental health conditions.

Sgt Burton and Sen Const Morris have both been keen triathletes, and have been swimming together for three years, sharing a passion for the Frankston/Mornington coastline.

Sen Const Morris joined Victoria police in 2011, and is a former soldier turned blue. She has worked in multiple roles across the state, an in addition to her current position at Frankston Police Station Sen Const Morris also works as a Councillor for the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.

Sgt Burton joined Victoria Police in 2010 and began his career in Fitzroy before moving to Prahran, Malvern and finally settling in Frankston. He currently works in the Southern Transit Safety Division.

Inspired by Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton’s Head to Head walk, Sgt Burton and Sen Const Morris are keen to push themselves with a swim three-times the length of their longest swim to date. They are trying to raise $10,000 for this very worthy cause, and would love your support!

Funds raised by the swim will go towards the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation who maintain a Mental Health Fund to assist in the treatment of current and past members struggling with PTSD.
