Pie and Ernie Irma Recovery

Hurricane Irma has devastated many in the Virgin Islands and has stranded our family in St. Thomas for over a week. Our beloved sister and brother-in-law, dearest aunt and uncle live on the once beautiful island that was directly hit by this monster storm. Isolated due to impassable roads and ruin throughout the island, Lena “Pie” and Ernie are hanging on with their 2 dogs, Taco and Bella, as well as 8 cats. If we could come together and help take the financial burden and aftermath off their shoulders, they can then focus on healing emotionally and physically. Both have endured recent surgeries and are recovering.
Keep in mind:
· The Post Office is non-operational until further notice.
· The Airport is down until further notice.
· Roads leading to their home are impassable and rescue efforts are currently focused on the larger populations in town – as needed.
They have lost one-third of their home's roof and have flooding throughout the entire property. Their gazebo, furniture, and satellite were all destroyed, to name a few.
Remarkably, even though all the vegetation and fruit trees throughout their property was destroyed, the only remaining vegetation was a lone olive tree. A true sign of God’s faithfulness and promises. There is hope for a brighter future.
To help secure that brighter future, we financial resources so when the time comes and supplies and services are available again, they are ready to take action and obtain the essentials that they so desperately need.
We're also asking for family and friends with craftsman skills to help when it is time to rebuild.
We understand that many are giving to the large and wide-spread companies such as United Way and Red Cross. These organizations are working hard to support those effected by these back-to-back catastrophes.
We have a need right within our own circle. If we band together, we can help restore the home and hope for our family on this little slice of the world.
Any excess funding will go to other island residents directly through Pie and Ernie, who live on the Island.
