A fundraiser for Judeth Van Hamm


If 10,000 people give $100, my mother could be a millionaire. And if you know Judeth Van Hamm, you know that's exactly the kind of thinking that has helped her start a museum , save a carousel , and protect a wetland* in Hull, Massachusetts.


A million dollars is a lot to ask. On the day last week her partner of thirty years, Michael Connelly, passed away, I asked her how she was set for money. She explained it was tight, and ended with, "Picture me a millionaire."


Imagine what Judeth Van Hamm will do with a million dollars. Right now, she has some unexepected expenses in the thousands**, and every gift is huge. We don't really expect to hit a million dollars, but why not have a little fun in the midst of our grief?

When I came up with the idea for this fundraiser, I asked my mom if it was ok. After some deliberation, she agreed. These were her edits to the preview link I sent over for her to check out, texted from the hospital bed where she is recovering from pneumonia:
