Physics Studies for a Friend

A gifted friend of mine, Kristóf Liszkóczi, is wasting away in Eastern Europe and is looking for a chance to contribute to the world that he is unable to get there. Help him achieve his dream of following a university education in Physics. I am hosting this GoFundMe campaign for him, since Hungary is not an eligible country on this platform. Here is what he wants to tell you:
A little about myself
My name is Kristóf Liszkóczi, I am currently 18 years old, and reside in a little country in the heart of Central Europe, called Hungary. I was born on the 12th of August, in the year 2000. I never lived in a huge city, but rather in a small village in a fairly rural area.
I am currently studying in a quite specialised (vocational) high school, which teaches engineering, and am nearing the end of my 5 year studies. My parents are always very supporting of my choices, and thought this would be a great opportunity for me too. At the time, this school seemed the most logical. I have always been interested in machines, physics and engineering. Or... so I thought.
Every single person goes through numerous changes in life, especially while transitioning from a kid to an adult. This is in part the reason I’ve ended up here, to GoFundMe.
I’ve been on an interesting, complicated voyage from 2015 onwards. I was accepted into the school, and have met many wonderful people along the way, many of which have become my closest friends.
The layout of the Hungarian educational system is currently changing to correct its many issues which are plaguing schools, students and school staff alike. The status quo is best described as a “hot mess.”
As I worked my way through the years in the school, the realisation struck me that I regret chosing this high school. The problems I had with it started to accumulate quite fast. I love natural sciences and mathematics. In this school however, I have no chance of pursuing those fields as natural sciences are completely replaced with vocational subjects, from which I’ve been distancing myself in recent years. I did not have much of a chance to study biology, geography, and other natural sciences in this school, apart from some basic chemistry. I wish I had the chance to study higher level mathematics to prepare myself for university, but I do not have an option for that in this school.
I have started watching videos about physics, chemistry, and most importantly, mathematics on the internet through Khan Academy and other online sources to try to fill in the gap of information in those fields, but it feels too overwhelming to try to study all of that on my own, and I am planning on seeking additional help from teachers. In the last 6 months, I have also been diagnosed with depression, which adds to the growing pile of worries regarding my future education and prospects.
I am really passionate for the study of reality, particularly physics, and the mathematical systems describing the essential systems which create the universe we live in, and it would mean the world to me to be able to study it.
My dream is going to the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands, to complete a 3 year long Physics B.Sc. programme, and to contiune my studies from there. The tuition cost for a year at that university would be approximately €2,100/year, added to the cost of living, it would most likely be impossible for me to prepare for something like this.
This is why I am asking you for help. I am stuck in a situation in which I do not have a way of making enough money to chase my dream in learning about physics and the world we live in. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your attention. I hope you have a fantastic day.
