Imagine having no sense of smell, and having everything you look at being blurry and sometimes double.
My name is Dovid Crayk, I was born in San Diego, went to college at SDSU. After graduating SDSU with a BA in Political Science I moved out to Israel to join the Israeli Army. That was in December 08, and I have lived here on my own ever since. In 2010 I began running a business which employed new immigrants in Israel from English speaking countries. If you speak to any new residents in Israel one of the big problems is they cant get work here and end up having to leave because of the langague barrier. My company allowed those who otherwise could not get employment due to the language barrier the ability to work and support their families.
Back in July of last year all that stopped I suffered a traumatic brain injury, a Subdural Hematoma. For those not aware of what that is, You can learn about it here .
Thank G-d I did not lose my life, however my sense of smell is gone and I have daily migraines and blurry vision.
I have gone through all the regular treatments through the social Medical system here in Israel, and I have now been accepted into a special treatment program meant to help regain my lost sense of smell, relieve the pressure from my optic nerve which will stop the blurry vision and migraines. This physical therapy which unfortunately is not covered under the social medical here in Israel is my best chance to get my life back!
The price per session is $220, the treatment consists of 1 session a week for 3 months. According to the neurosurgery department at Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv this treatment is the best chance for me to regain my sense of smell, stopping the blurred vision which in turn will stop the migraines and allow me to get my life back. So its extremely important that I get to these sessions. The injury has caused me to lose my company and left me unable to work. With G-ds help. and your donations of course for the physical therapy G-d willing I will have a full recovery, allowing me to get my life back on track and get back to helping others again.
