If you're taking the time to read this page, you probably know me or my family. If you don't, my name is Phyllis Finley, and I've made this page because life has thrown me some curve balls that have led to me needing some help financially.
Many of you may know that the past few years have been very difficult for me as I have battled parotid gland cancer. Originally diagnosed in 2012, I had surgery to remove the cancer and went through several weeks of radiation in 2013. Things went smoothly for a while, but it returned after a few years. The cancer was slow-growing and required only monitoring for several months until I finally had to begin a very aggressive regimen of chemotherapy last summer. This chemo did put me into remission; however, the cancer returned once again, and I have been going through more aggressive chemo treatments this year.
Unfortunately, the chemo I received caused too many adverse side effects and my doctor has determined that I can no longer continue with that treatment. There are no more treatments available that will help without also significantly decreasing my quality of life. Because of this, I was recently faced with the tough decision to discontinue my treatments in an effort to improve my quality of life and to enjoy the time that I have left. Throughout my battle with cancer, the medical bills have piled up. I’m hoping to raise enough money to help with those expenses so that, when my time comes, my children will not have to worry and may even be able to cover the funeral expenses.
