Philippe, my dad.

Hi, my name is Marielle and I'm making this gofundme in honor of my dad who just passed away last night at 11:23 pm.

My dad made an impact anywhere he went, he helped anyone he could.

He was way too good for himself at times. He was a great cook, a good listener, and a pushy motivator and I learned a lot from him growing up.

A thing I will never forget is how he moved with me to Spain even after saying no repeatedly and also "How can I move to a country I don't even know the language of", he stubbornly stood by his statement until he heard of the reasoning to why I wanted to move away from Norway. He dropped everything and applied me to the Norwegian school in Malaga, I thankfully got in even though I was the last applicant of 40 people, and we moved the following month. I will forever be grateful that he did that for me, took care of me, and raised me in a loving environment. I love you, Dad. He grew to adore the country, he even spent the last few years learning and grasping more of the Spanish language and I felt so proud hearing him try to both understand and speak Spanish.

He has been fighting a lot for the last 2 years and has been super strong and I'm so proud to say he is one of the strongest people I know. He had gone through a total of 4 heart attacks throughout his life and then, unfortunately, got diagnosed with prostate cancer. He couldn't get proper treatment either due to his heart being already weak, and he already had a big kidney stone that also made it difficult to operate. He had also gotten an infection in his liver, so for the past few months his body was in total, fighting a lot for its life. He was strong and fought for a long time, but in the end, his heart and body were too tired to keep going thankfully he wasn't in pain when he passed away. His loved ones were around him and managed to communicate somewhat with eyes, he tried to speak so badly that it sounded like he was drowning in his words, and he then slept for an hour with slightly heavy breathing, till he slept peacefully in.

Then came the aftermath.

Funeral and burial costs the way it does today make it so I felt like I had to make a gofundme for the family not to fall apart due to the costs, as we don't have enough to cover all of it.

And we want to put him to rest, in the way we think he deserves. In the town, and country he resided in for the last 12 years. He has a lot of love for Spain and we want him to rest exactly where he wishes for. He told us in December how there's no doubt that he wanted to be buried in Spain, and all of his friends and family knew how much he loved it here.

Therefore, I ask you all, for some assistance in helping to get my dad the peace he deserves before we say our final goodbyes.
