Petersfield Food Bank

As you will be aware, times are tough at the moment, and people all across the country are under pressure. There are few better indicators of this than the vast surge in reliance on food banks. With so many families struggling to put food on the table, organisations like the Petersfield Food Bank are now more vital than ever. They help people living in the local area and the wider Hampshire community. Typically the food packages consist of items left at donation points in supermarkets, but with the rising cost of living, these donations have unfortunately begun to decline. Additionally, they have seen a 193% increase in the number of people using the Food Bank from June of 2021 to June of this year.

It is for this reason that I have decided to start a fundraiser. In a few weeks, I will be walking the 100 miles of the South Downs Way, from Winchester to Eastbourne, in 4 days. I'm looking forward to the challenge and hope it will serve as some incentive for people to donate. Every penny raised will be spent on food packages so that any donation will make a real difference.
