My name is Linda Maciel. I’m a friend of Denise Padula. I started this campaign in hopes of helping this family in their time of need.
Denise’s brother Pete Dion passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2017, leaving 2 teenage girls with no dad. He had just turned 51 on July 12. Pete was a divorced single dad. The mom has not been in the girls lives. Pete was a very hard worker and loved his family dearly. He did not have life insurance. Denise and her husband Dave Padula stepped up to the plate and took the girls into their home. Due to no life insurance Denise and Dave paid for the funeral expenses and had to get temporary emergency custody of the girls. The expenses have been pretty hefty, the funeral and legal expenses to obtain permanent legal guardianship is another unexpected expense. After speaking to an attorney they expect expenses including the funeral to be no less than 24,000.00. Please think of this family and keep them in your prayers, any donation is helpful. The girls are in good hands and getting accustomed to their new home and new surroundings, Keep in mind Denise and David have never been parents and are doing a phenomenal job at it. I had the pleasure of meeting some of Pete’s friends that he worked with and they all rallied together to help Denise move the girl's belongings to their new home.
