World Archery Para Championships

Since becoming a paraplegic in 1986 it wasn't until Australia Day 2015 that I first picked up a bow and the following October I shot my first archery tournament.
Over the past two years I have placed 2nd in the National Para Championships as well as holding my own against able bodied competitors in the Master Male Compound division at a state level.
I am now very proud to have been chosen to help represent Australia at the 2017 World Archery Para Championships in Beijing, China! Our ultimate goal is to build a secure foundation to gain spots and send a strong team to the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo.
Of course, as a self funded archer, my personal finances are taking a big hit. Not only are there the cost of air fares and accommodation but ongoing equipment needs and travelling interstate to various tournaments have already taken a large toll. There's only so much a disability pension and maxed out credit card can handle!
