Pete Brown Medical and Home Care Fundraiser
Truly, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, our friend Pete Brown, is fighting the battle of his life right now. We are sending this out as he could use our help in fighting and winning this long battle ahead of him.
On May 12th Pete started experiencing tingling in his hands and feet. 48 hours later he was experiencing trouble walking and went to the ER. They admitted him and after a series of tests he was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome. This rare condition, a persons immune system attacks their nervous system. Pete has a severe case and has experienced almost total paralysis for the past month. He has minimal use of his arms and legs and has not been able to eat or swallow.
He has been through several treatments and is about to start his 5th treatment of plasmaphoresis. He has not had the response the doctors hoped for thus far which leads them to believe Pete has a long and difficult road to recovery. It is not uncommon for recovery to take a year and often times longer. As we all know, these journeys come at significant expense. Loss of income, medical expenses, rehab expenses and home retrofits are some of just a few he and his family will experience.
Pete has been Married to Lisa Brown for 20 years and they have 2 adult daughters and 5 grand children. He has lived in Holt, MI for over 20 years. Due to Pete's condition Lisa is currently listing their home for sale to find a house more suitable for Pete's recovery.
If you have had the pleasure of meeting Pete you know what kind of a person he is. He would do anything for his friends, now I am asking we all do something for him and his family.
Please donate what you can. Any and all donations are appreciated and will help Pete and Lisa through this very difficult time in their lives.
