Micro-Buses for School in Piura, Peru

We are Michael Duane, Thomas Rogers, and Rustin Baradar from Sacred Heart Schools in California. For the past three summers, we have visited and worked at Father Joseph Uhen's Parish, Santisimo Sacramento, located in Piura, Peru. Throughout our experience, we have seen that many of the families live in bamboo homes with dirt floors and though filled with hope, they do struggle with the pains of poverty. Like many, we want to help our Peruvian friends. We are deeply grateful for the empowering education that we receive and would like to offer a more promising learning experience for the young students at the school founded by Father Joe- Madre Del Buen Consejo. After talking to Father Joe and observing the needs of the school first hand, we have decided on a project that we believe can truly make a difference. There is a great need for the students to be safely transported to and from the school in order to further their education and participate in athletics or other extracurricular activities. To that end, we are raising funds to buy two micro-buses for the school.

That's where all of you come in. The micro-buses are going to cost about $50,000 and will hold approximately 40 students. Your donations will be applied through the Saint Joseph Peruvian Mission Fund.

Our goal is to have the money raised by August 15th, so that these students can begin experiencing these invaluable extracirruculur activities before the start of the next school year. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
