Peru Orphanage Project

You’ve probably heard the term “once in a lifetime opportunity” before.  Well, we have just such an opportunity to help the lives of at risk children in Cusco, Peru.

We are partnering with 5-Star Legacy Foundation, (www.5starlegacyfoundation.org ) a non profit group and will be going to a village nestled between the mountains of Cusco, Peru to spend time at the Hogar de Ninas San Judas Chico.  This is home to 45 Peruvian girls, ages 4 to 17.  These girls have come from very tough circumstances, many of them suffering from abuse and being abandoned at young ages, left with no one to care for them.  In searching out the right fit for 5 Star Legacy Foundation and our group, we felt we could truly make a difference by helping this particular orphanage and supporting their basic needs and supporting their educational pursuits.

We have a very specific list of projects we will be completing while there.  We will be improving their living conditions in many ways, finishing their library/study area, as well as helping them continue their education.  Our goal is to get all materials needed right away, and to finish these projects before we come home. We will be traveling there the first week of July.

Not everyone has the opportunity to travel there and do the actual work as our group does, so we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to participate.  For that reason we have established this Go Fund Me page.  Feel free to donate whatever you can.  100% of your contribution will be going directly to the orphanage and the projects listed.  We really appreciate your support!

Finish Classroom/Study Area:
Replace ceiling and flooring
Replace and improve lighting

Home Improvement:
Install 2 solar panels for water heaters for showers
Expand roof for laundry drying area

Vocational Training/Skills & Materials:
Oven
Baking supplies (pans, mixer, etc)
Sewing machines and materials

Education:
School fees for each girl for one year
School supplies for one year
Backpacks
Shoes and clothing for school

Finish and Augment Library:
Materials (bookcases, shelves and cubbies)
Sports equipment:
Soccer and basketballs
Outdoor game sets
