Peru Mission Trip Donations

As you may know, I am a junior at Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island, where a tradition has blossomed over the past 15 years of sending students on a mission trip to Peru during April vacation.  Earlier this year I had the privilege of being accepted for this trip and am very excited to be going on my first international journey!

            Our mission is to deliver crucial supplies and to help repair and renovate run-down homes in villages.  From what I have learned, the living conditions of the people we will meet are about as good as living outside your home every day; some families do not even have a roof over their heads.  Bishop Hendricken students have done a lot of good work in Peru over the years, and I am looking forward to being part of that history.  After spending over a week getting to know underprivileged adults and children, I expect I will return with many lasting memories of people who have to live in a world that you and I can hardly imagine.

            The cost of the trip is around $2,600, so obviously financing this trip will not be easy.  We leave in mid-April and will be away for 10 days.  To help raise funds, I am asking for a pledge I’m calling “10 for 10,” $10 for 10 days.  Of course, any donation would be greatly appreciated no matter the size.  I hope you will consider donating to support my efforts.
