Personal Protective Equipment for ICU staff
The ICU team in NYC hospitals need your help! We have private connections to get PPE to protect frontline providers but we need your help to buy it. Please consider donating money to help support our heroes!
Update: We will be donating the supplies to accepting hospitals within their protocol and procedures and following JACHO and CDC guidelines. The hospitals that have been selected by our team include Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Elmhurst, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn Methodist, and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center.
Our estimated costs:
Coveralls - TBD, we need to establish proper training protocol and get approval from leadership before rolling these out
Face-shields (from adafruit in brooklyn!) $2 each - we plan to order as many as possible, around 2,000-4,000 to start. Our factory is waiting on supplies and will be making them for us ASAP. We will be able to pick these up directly to minimize the lead time.
Masks: we purchased 1,000 KN95s from a certified distributer and 4,000 surgical 3 ply masks. Given concerns for counterfeit masks, they will be tested before use. Those delivered were put aside so that we can verify their authenticity with the lab.
Cleaning supplies:
We are working with infection control and environmental safety to ensure that purchased supplies meet their needs.
Other items:
We have been asked by staff to use some of the funds to buy lunches and dinners for the staff for each shift, and safe rides home via taxi or Uber.
If you have PPE already and want to donate, please message me to arrange shipping or drop off at a staff member's home.
If you know someone in the welding/painting/construction business that has access to 3m versaflo PAPRs and would be willing to donate, please let us know. We will make them usable for staff!

These donations will go directly into purchasing personal protective equipment and be delivered directly to those on the front lines after proper quality control checks.

The funds obtained through this donation campaign will go to Julia Ganieva's personal bank account. She will keep record of withdrawals for fund disbursement with clear transparency and accountability. All funds will go directly into purchasing PPE to be donated to the above hospitals, snacks and safe rides home for staff in the ICU.
