Pershing Playground

My name is Brandi Frazier and I teach Kindergarten at Pershing Elementary. We are raising funds to support our playground needs. We are a small elementary school of about 200 students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Our building and playground is about 60 years old. We currently have three sets of swings, monkey bars, a metal slide, one park bench, and a small climbing structure. We would like to replace our current climbing structure and add additional equipment that would support our students balancing, climbing, spinning, and cooperative play needs. Our dream is to create a playground that provides a developmental, engaging, relevant, outdoor space for learning, growing, and building relationships.
The playground at Pershing Elementary is more than just a playground. Children learn life skills such as perseverance, cooperation, sharing, kindness, problem-solving and so much more from their time spent outdoors with their friends. Our students at Pershing Elementary work hard in the classroom and need a good quality playground to foster their development. Children need space and equipment designed to encourage their adventurous spirit, creativity, and friendship skills. The playground is an integral part of the school environment. Students look forward to this time of free exploration and meaningful connections with others. Teachers can utilize the playground as an outdoor classroom, inviting students to expand their learning through outdoor lessons and activities. The playground supports our neighborhood, giving families a place to connect and grow with their children. This playground project is very important to Pershing Elementary. We appreciate your kindness and generosity.
