Dear friends and family, it is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you. My brother Abel has unexpectedly fallen gravely ill. The prognosis is bleak. We have reached a crossroad and have decided to remove him from any and all life support and medical assistance and leave it in Gods hands. We have been advised that there is a very small chance of survival.  It is expected that he will not live long once removed from any medical support. If Abel does survive, we have been advised by doctors that we should expect that he will need to be institutionalized indefinitely. Either road will be devastating both emotionally and financially.  As the main source of financial support for his family Abel will leave behind a wife who will need time as she heals and learns to adjust to life without his emotional and financial support.  His Daughter Caitie and Son Dawson will need continued financial support as the find the strength to realize their dreams and finish University and College respectively.  Whether it is funeral costs and assistance to cope over the next few years or institutionalization, they are in need. 
Everyone has offered tremendous emotional support and we appreciate it all beyond words.  I hope that we all can band together and find a way to complete the circle of support in a meaningful way. 
Please know that any support, big or small, will be very meaningful and help a family in shock find their way through this dark time.
