Following the devastating loss of our mom last year; Sarah, my amazing sister and her husband Ryan, are now facing the most challenging year of their lives. This past February 2015, Sarah was officially diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer at the young age of 32. The prognosis to beat this illness includes a type of chemo treatment that guarantees the loss of all her hair  followed by extensive surgery in which she will lose both her breasts and finally, an intense reconstruction process. Chemo treatments are scheduled for every Thursday of each week for a total of 5 months, starting March 5th, 2015. Thankfully they do have insurance. However given her youthful age there are other uninsured needs including advanced and continual screening for cancer throughout her body, her desire to still conceive children (gratefully she did receive a partial grant through the Livestrong foundation and a personal check from a close friend towards this significant expense), dignity and comfortably seeking wig styles that will work for the LA humidity and heat of the summer and post reconstruction surgery. Based upon these significant needs and only because so many have asked to help, we feel comfortable setting up this fund. I know we set our goal for a significant amount. Please know that anything raised in addition to her cancer treatment and needs as described above will be otherwise donated to another breast cancer patient-survivor.

Sarah will also be documenting her experience with the art of video and photography in hopes to someday help other young survivors through her experience.
