Pensioner robbed on her birthday

Donation protected

Disabled lady, who lost her husband only two weeks ago, was robbed of her handbag outside Aldi in Borehamwood Retail Park on her birthday.
A lovely lady in her 80s was robbed in broad daylight today outside Aldi in Borehamwood when she went shopping for the first time on her own after the sad loss of her husband two weeks ago.

The lady realised that the thugs had reached in through the passenger window and stolen her handbag when she stepped out of the car to get a shopping trolley. The thieves also stole her disabled parking badge from the window and her house keys, credit cards and cash that she had just gotten from the bank.

She was so distraught that it was hard for her to take action and ask for help, but we asked if she was ok, and she managed to express that her bag was taken.

My husband helped her call the police, enquired about the security cameras and drove her home safely where her late husband had the great foresight to have hidden a set of keys in case of emergencies.

Her late husband helped her in her moment of need.

Finding the keys that her husband had hidden for her was very upsetting for her and brought back the enormous loss of her life partner only two weeks prior.  She showed a lovely tribute to her late husband, who was an avid Tottenham Hotspurs Supporter.

On top of the very traumatic events and the daunting task of blocking cards, getting locks replaced and dealing with the police, this was her birthday.

My husband suggested to start this Go-Fund-Me page to be able to give her something towards her loss today. The cost of replacing her handbag, purse, change of locks and lost cash will probably add up to £1000 and we would love to be able for her to replace her stolen items and feel the support of the community.

Please see if you can spare a couple of pounds for a lovely lady whose birthday ended up being the saddest day possible.

Any enquiries to verify the authenticity of the events can be confirmed at the Borehamwood Retail Park management office.
