Penny is too humble and hard headed to make everyone aware of her situation so I’d like to disclose the cold hard truth in hopes that we can come together and give a little help. Penny is very VERY sick. As brutal as it is to say, she won’t live a long life ya’ll and she’s struggling; mentally, physically, and financially. I promise to make this as short as possible....if you scroll through everything, at least go to the bottom to see how you can help. Theres a couple different ways! <3
She has Type 1 diabetes since she was 21, Has an insulin pump, deals with the regular struggles of this.
She has Gastroparesis. This is HORRIBLE! Her stomach is paralyzed. If she eats, it sits in her stomach until she pukes…and pukes….and pukes. She’s malnourished, EXTREMELY weak, and it’s horrible for her blood sugar which makes her diabetes insane. She has a permanent port implanted due to the hundreds of hospital stays and IV sticks.
She has Kidney disease. This isn’t curable and she’s been taking medicine for it since 2014.
Her health is literally deteriorating. There’s talk of a colostomy bag, a pacemaker for her stomach, etc etc. It just keeps getting worse every year.
She’s mentally exhausted. It’s sinking in that she likely isn’t going to see and enjoy grandkids, That she will live the rest of her days sick, and that she will never be able to work. As you can imagine, that’s taking a HUGE toll on her.
Her disability is STILL pending. I don’t have enough room on here to tell you how much she’s provided and fought and tried…..hopefully that will come through one day.
Here is how you can help!
She still has bills, kids need glasses as we speak, she still has to buy food for 7 people, etc . With 5 kids and only once person working, they struggle. She literally kills herself trying to find something to do to make money and what she needs is to take it easy on her body for a month or two and let it recover!
Can you donate $5? You have a family too and aren’t rich….let’s collect small amounts.
Can you bring dinner to her family one night?
Are you available to run an errand or two for her?
Could you be a listening ear? I personally can post a few messages from her (journal entries I call them) ….that will rip your heart out. She needs to hear that she isn’t judged. That she is a badass who is trying her hardest. And that she doesn’t have to always be strong.
