Crystal's Story

Hi , My name is Chanti and I volunteer and work alongside people in Peterborough , who are often without housing , have experienced many traumas , or who struggle with mental health or addiction . I am very fortunate to meet many amazing people , including the strong and inspiring woman I would like to help through this Go Fund Me Campaign . My friend and former co - worker Crystal has been working in the vulnerable community for over a decade and through this , has helped countless individuals in Peterborough and the surrounding area . Crystal's loving kindness and endless passion has earned her deep respect from allies , institutions and advocates , BUT , she often does her work as a volunteer without a stable salary . Crystal is the most compassionate , giving , and selfless person I know . She is always willing to help and has a huge impact on the lives of those who are oppressed and vulnerable . Recently Crystal lost her job and while she is struggling financially , has continued to volunteer huge amounts of time to those who need it most . With no other supports in place , and as a single mother of two children , my friend is now finding it difficult to make ends meet . She finds herself challenged to pay a mortgage for a home in need of considerable repair, stay ahead of bills , and provide for her children . Please help our dear friend and advocate to continue to lend her voice to those who are voiceless , to shine light where there is none , and to help balance the stress of family , work , and passion that we all know can be so difficult .
