YWAM Discipleship Training

Hey friends,

God has intervened in my life. After years of living a life with my back toward Him, He reached down and met me where I was--at rock bottom. The past two weeks have brought immense growth and clarity as to the ways God has worked in my life from day one.

For a long time I struggled with the most common question people have about God.

How can a loving, all-powerful God allow bad things to happen?  And if He does truly  exist, He must be very distant and angry.

That is not the case, people! And it saddens me to think that I believed that up until I arrived here at Youth With A Mission--a movement dedicated to sending people out to serve and reach the unreached.

What motivated me to join YWAM? Well, I have been stewing over the answer to that question for days.

How in the world did I go from pursuing a degree in Art and Marketing to preparing for a semester of ministry with YWAM?

The only answer I can come up with is God’s divine intervention.

The month of December was a month filled with unexplained anxiety about returning to school. Unexplained because school was a place where I had found so many kind, caring, and supportive friends that I already missed with all my heart. It was a place where I was pursuing a major that I love and where I was excited about learning, working hard and seeing results. But  every time I thought about returning to school, a rush of unexplainable distress came over me.

This went on for the entire duration of December until I realized I needed to start looking into something else. Long story short, I literally stumbled over YWAM. And without knowing ANY details about it, I defended the notion of actually going with my life. There is no doubt in my mind, that it was God literally shoving me on a plane- a plane that would go to where I was meant to be. I applied for the discipleship training school on Sunday; I got accepted to the school on Monday; and was on a plane to Colorado on Thursday.

Since then, I have turned around to see God face to face.

Psalm 18 has been spoken over me countless times since I have been here and the power of the scripture has transformed my way of thinking.

~He was never distant; He was molding me and guiding me from the start.
~He didn’t cause bad things to happen to me, rather He delivered me from those evil things with His mighty hand.
~With his power, He bridged the gap that I had created between us.
~With his power, “I can scale a wall” and do it all for His glory.

I am amazed by the unconditional, unceasing love He showed me even when I had turned my back to Him.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

We are ALL called according to his purpose.

This step in discovering God’s unique purpose for me is a step of growth. Growing in Him so that I can do His work and prepare myself to show the same unconditional love that He has shown me to unreached people groups (I will know the specific country in a few weeks).

So friends, family, I ask for your support in this journey of my life. The ministry step begins in a few months and will require a financial commitment.

If you feel led to give, you can do so using the link below.  If giving is not an option for you right now, know that God always provides.

But I do ask for your prayers. Please pray that God will continue to work in and through me and that He will guide me to the place He wants me to go.  We can never underestimate the power of prayer.

Thank you and God bless,

Hannah
