Why I Need It
Registered right here in Bergen County, Hackensack New Jersey in April 2020, Everything at Home with Patricia , along with the companion podcast is not SELLING anything. It's a community project I pay for and host myself to distribute information that the neighborhood is clearly missing; the good news, the local small businesses that are still working for us, and also to share with my neighbors the things they've asked me to find or look out for, for them. Working from home isn't new to me. Been doing this for decades.

"Oh girl, don't you have a friend or ...?"

Don't even, please! I detest having to post this, but I'm not about to let a minor embarrassment slow me from my work. I don't borrow and I don't lend. That's how I was raised and my only friend of 35 years can attest it's true.  BEING RAISED IN THE PRESENCE OF PEDOPHILES AND SEX TRAFFICKING TAUGHT ME NEVER TO OWE ANYBODY.  IJN I manifest it.

If you haven't already, please watch Still Here #StillHereMovie regarding the Watson family in New York. I am fighting for Monique Watson's next 30, 40 years. Who else will? Who else represents her? Us?

I, too, am still here.

The Mayo Clinic reported [Mayo Clinic Report pdf version ]:

Survivors of sexual abuse are commonly encountered in general medical practice. It is now known that sexual abuse survivors face a challenging spectrum of physical and mental health concerns, with associated higher health care use and greater medical expenditures. This systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrates that sexual abuse is associated with multiple psychiatric disorders, including lifetime diagnosis of anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, sleep disorders, and attempted suicide. Improved recognition of the link between a history of sexual abuse and mental health disorders may increase the identification of abuse survivors and lead to better treatment and outcomes.

Further research is necessary to better understand the pathogenesis of psychiatric disease in victims of sexual abuse and to more effectively treat survivors coping with long-term mental health outcomes.

Additionally, the report concludes:
Health statistics show that abuse survivors incur 10% to 40% greater primary care costs and 13% to 43% greater total health care costs. Greater health care use reflects increased emergency department visits; greater number of hospitalizations; and more generalist, subspecialty, and psychiatric evaluations. Despite this increased health care use, the topic of abuse is seldom addressed between patient and physician. Only 5% of sexual abuse survivors report a history of abuse to their physicians. Studies demonstrate that patients consider it appropriate for physicians to inquire about abuse history, but such questions are not routinely asked.

Would you rather support otherwise productive people for the rest of their lives, putting a strain on the entire healthcare system? Or would you rather help survivors when they are as young as possible so that they can live productive, independent lives on their own? AND those of us living alone without family or siblings often demonstrate no evidence of mental illness or difficulties. It took me SEVEN HOURS just a couple months ago to leave my home to shop. Who would ever know that if I don't tell?

Mental illness should not be this hard to diagnose and get treated properly. I will be 53 in a few weeks. This has been the best year of my life - 2021 will be the best.

I've contacted the study for reference and follow-up. We need the latest statistics. I will assist in every way I can. Remember that many "survivors" don't get to be 52 years old. Many die with secrets never told. We can't study or count what we can't see.

I am still here for a reason. Just surviving is not enough.

What I Need It For

My $175 MacBook Air is out of warranty and also can't handle the audio and video editing I have to do for both my business and research. That is where I will also be sharing data with the experts I contact and communicate with on this lifetime project.
