Thanks for your interest in this GoFundMe campaign! A little over two years ago I took a trip to Haiti with Freedom Global Outreach to visit the child we sponsor. I also met 49 of his friends. As well as 28 that live over the mountains of Haiti. They changed my life forever. Freedom Global Outreach runs 3 orphanages in Haiti. Recently, funds were raised for Heavens Angels Pediatric Clinic. This clinic was built near a school that educates nearly 1500 children and will provide basic care for them, the community and the children at the orphanages. That's great!
These are some of the children that will be utilizing the funds that you give!
But even with the clinic closeby, there is still a need for funds in the event of an emergency. That is the goal of this campaign. The children in the orphanges basic care like routine visits and prescriptions are provided by sponsors, but this emergency care is not. When a surgery is needed (hernia's and appendicitis for example), broken bones , lacerations, seizures and severe dehydration happen, funds need to be available otherwise these go untreated. I am hoping we can raise in the vicinity of $5000 for this care. But don't think we need to reach our goal in order to use the funds. Even after the first money is donated we can use it for care that is needed already. Every little helps! Even if it's only $10! We'll use it!
Though this fundraiser benefits the orphans under Freedom Global Outreach's care, it is not a fundraiser run by FGO. It is run by me, just a guy that sees how hard they work and the tremendous care they already provide for the children. It is to help take the pressure off when a medical emergency situation arises, and they do. All donations will be used directly by FGO.
The last thing someone want's to think about when something like this comes up is where the money comes from. Less than 40% of children in Haiti with pneumonia, flur, infections, diarrhea, malnourishment and respiratory issues ever seeks/receives treatment. This is why your donation is so important!
