Pedal 4 Patto North West
Donation protected
In 2013 former Ireland and Surrey cricketer Andrew Patterson was diagnosed with the rare hereditary condition Spastic Paraplegia. Andrew's condition has continued to deteriorate to the point where he is now close to being wheelchair bound.
In a bid to support him and his family and to help with the cost of adapting his home and garden for wheelchair use, we, his friends here in the North West Cricket Union, are planning to cycle from cricket club to cricket club as part of the 'Pedal 4 Patto' fundraiser.
The event begins at 9am on April 23 and will see a cricketer from each individual club bike from Sion Mills to Strabane to Ballymagorry and every other club along the 113km route until they reach Muckamore in County Antrim. There they will link up with cricketers from the Northern Cricket Union who are cycling 400km as part of 'Pedal 4 Patto'.
Two North West cricketers, Desmond 'Dekker' Curry and Andrew Riddles, will complete the entire trip from Sion Mills to Muckamore, joined at each stage by a volunteer.
Your donations will help the Patterson family immensely as they cope with the changes they now face.
