Peanuts Surgical Needs

Peanut Update:

It’s been awhile since we have updated everyone on Peanut & her second ear surgery, and we apologize. 

If everyone remembers correctly, Peanut flatlined while coming out of anesthesia during her first ear surgery. Thanks to the surgeons quick thinking, she was able to resuscitate Peanut. Peanut was then taken to stay overnight at the emergency vet for observation. The next day she went home & recovered. 

Since then, we have been working very hard on getting Peanut to gain weight & get her healthy with special supplements. She has been taking pain meds to help subside the discomfort from her second ear. Peanut has been routinely going to the vet for blood work which showed a high white blood count. Hoping antibiotics would do the trick, she continuously took them. After a few blood results came back, and there being no change, we decided to do an ultrasound and x-rays. 

In the x-rays we noticed that in Peanuts past life, someone shot her with a B.B. gun. We just cannot fathom how a dog as sweet and special as Peanut could have ever been shot at. Thankfully, the B.B.’s were not in a place that needed to removed. However, during her ultrasound, the doctor found that her uterine wall was infected. The doctor, surgeon and staff all agreed that we should have Peanut spayed to get rid of the infection prior to scheduling her next ear surgery. 


Currently, Peanut is coming out of anesthesia just fine after her spay. The surgeon who did her first ear, who normally does not do “routine” surgeries (like spays), came in specially for Peanut to make sure everything went okay.

We have been drained of all of our finances, and will not be able to schedule Peanuts second ear surgery until we have some more money raised. Peanut is a very special dog, who truly deserves everything in the world given to her.
