Peace in the Valley for Melissa Harper

Donation protected
Melissa Harper is truly one of a kind with a heart of gold. She is a child of God, a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend to everyone she meets. On Friday October 30, 2020 Melissa arrived at her doctor appointment to have carpal tunnel surgery, from there followed a whirlwind of events which all spiraled from high blood pressure. She was unable to have the carpal tunnel surgery because her blood pressure was extremely high and she was extremely swollen. The doctor who would have performed the surgery told her to see her general practitioner or go to the emergency room immediately to get the high blood pressure, which was at stroke level, under control. After the appointment with her general practitioner she learned that the carpal tunnel problem she was having, the swelling and the extremely high blood pressure was all due to a blessing that she didn’t even know about. Melissa found out at this doctor’s appointment that she was almost 6 months pregnant (23 1/2 weeks). She was then taken to the emergency room where she was admitted to the labor and delivery floor. After lots of testing, she found out that she has pre-eclampsia and that she will have to be in the hospital until the baby is born.  As of now, the doctors are taking things one day at a time and praying that she makes it to 28-34 weeks. Which means 4-10 weeks in the hospital for Melissa. Once the baby is born, the baby will have to stay in the NICU until she is able to go home.

Melissa has already seen God’s hand all over this situation as he has been guiding each doctor each step of the way! Melissa is praising God because all of the ultrasounds show that her little baby girl is perfectly healthy! God is good and she is thankful!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James‬ ‭1:17‬

On behalf of Melissa’s family, we are thankful and grateful for any donations to help cover Melissa’s medical expenses, bills that need to be paid while she is in the hospital and unable to work, and medical expenses for the baby from her stay in the NICU. Also for the trips to come, that will have to be made back and forth from Vicksburg to Jackson to visit the baby until she is able to come home. Melissa had no idea that her trip to the doctor for carpal tunnel surgery would end the way it did! So once again, thank you to all who donate. Melissa is truly grateful and thankful for everyone and everything!

At this moment, we don’t know how long Melissa will be in the hospital or when the baby will be born. But what we do know is that God has given Melissa such a blessing through this trying time that we all can’t wait to meet! Thank you for all of the prayers that have already been prayed and please continue to pray for Melissa and the baby! God is good and God is faithful! We are praying for Peace in the Valley for Melissa Harper!!
